WHAT IS ERBIUM LASER THERAPY?
Erbium Laser Therapy is a laser treatment in which fine wrinkles, sun damage, acne scarring and age spots are greatly decreased or diminished. One of the biggest benefits of the erbium laser is that it is generally less invasive than CO2 resurfacing and other treatment types and has less down time. This means you can see amazing results without it effecting your day to day routine. Like many of the other services we offer the effected results very depending on the severity of the patients condition.

HOW DOES THE TREATMENT WORK?
The laser light is absorbed by the water in the skin cells, causing the instantaneous vaporization of the cell. As the laser passes across the skin, a small amount of tissue is removed at a time, allowing for the physician to treat only as deeply as needed. Our doctors are trained to know the best way to use this laser to get you the absolute best results possible.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEFORE TREATMENT:
Avoid tanning or tanning creams four weeks prior to treatment this includes outdoors and indoor tanning, and avoid Accutane® for six weeks prior to treatment. Aspirin and other blood thinners should also be avoided for at least three days before treatment. Do not have any open sores or skin infections in the area to be treated, and shave area before your appointment. Do not apply makeup or moisturizers.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AFTER TREATMENT:
If necessary, over-the-counter medications, such as ibuprofen, may be taken. Cold compresses and Aloe Vera gel may be helpful in reducing pain, redness and swelling. Avoid the sun after treatment. If sun exposure is unavoidable, cover treated area with protective clothing and SPF 35 or higher. Do not go to the tanning salon or do any indoor tanning until cleared by the doctor to do so

How Does it work?
The CO2 Laser is an excellent treatment for deep lines and wrinkles. It tightens and smooths skin by stimulating collagen growth with laser energy. This improves skin texture and tone, while smoothing lines and wrinkles. This treatment is great for face wrinkles and lines around the eyes, cheeks and mouth. By smoothing the skin and producing more collagen it also can dramatically improve the skin of those suffering from acne. It can be used for the hands and chest.

The CO2 laser is a fractionated laser that applies tiny columns of laser energy into the skin of the face and neck to tighten and smooth the skin. This precision laser makes thousands of microscopic perforations which stimulates new collagen to grow.

The new collagen improves your skin texture and tone to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. The skin around each of these perforations remains intact, which allows the skin to heal from the edge of these holes very rapidly.

What should I expect?
Treatments may take 1-2 hours depending on the area. Local and topical anesthesia is used so the treatment is relatively comfortable. The skin feels like a sunburn for a day or two and is red and scaly with some swelling for 7-10 days.
​
Most people will take off some time from work, but some choose to return to work even the next day! Makeup can be applied on about day 5 which can help to cover up the redness. Although you will see immediate improvement, the skin will continue to tighten over about 4-6 months after treatment!

Chemical Peel
What are Chemical Peels?
Revive Face, Body, and Skin offers the best medical grade chemical peels available to respond to visible signs of aging, fine lines, dark spots, sun damage, and post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. These peels can also help soften acne scars. After treatment your skin will appear younger and be noticeably smoother and more radiant as the damaged outer layers of skin cells have been removed. Our chemical peel treatments usually last 30 to 60 minutes and are done in our office in a comfortable environment by top industry professionals. in an effort to continue to see the best results possible, chemical peels should be repeated every three weeks, with each treatment producing a more pronounced result. Peels are done in layers, up to a limit of the particular product, according to your goals and your skin’s ability to tolerate the sensation.

How should I prepare?
Before a chemical peel, patients should inform the doctor or staff if they have any history of recurring cold sores, or unusual scarring tendencies. The doctor will work with each patient to decide on the depth of peel, based on their skin concerns and treatment goals. Patients often require pretreatment with certain products prior to their peel.
